MuscleNerd reply to a message from a user on Twitter.

However, an unasked question: “Why Apple has made available an enhanced version only for iPod Touch and then release the iPhone version postponing?” was asked. Perhaps because of their error, or because there will be some bugs not yet fixed, however the issue remains somewhat strange.

@chronicdevteam will probably post any interesting updates here : http://qik.com/chronicdevwill #ipt3 #31firmware #pois0n #hax

There are several iPhone explosion cases across the Europe. French authorities is really concerned about the problem. Some report said iPhone is overheated, but Apple denies it. They have made an official responses saying it may not be Apple’s fault. They said the incidents may be caused by external force. Apple Europe wants the victim to give them the broken iPhones for further investigations.
The number of cases remains single digit, but it’s not sure whether it will grow or not. No one has confirmed the iPhone has battery overheat problem, yet…

It takes a long time to sync photos to iPhone/iPod Touch if you have thousands of photos. Simplify Media has a new App Simplify Photo (US$0.99) which lets you to view photos on iPhone/iPod Touch without syncing. You need to create an account in Simplify Media. The app will guide you after the first installation. Then, install the provided software in Windows or Mac. Enter the account information and everything is good to go.
Simplify Photo is even better than the built-in Photo.app. You can browse photos according locations or faces. It’s like the iPhoto for iPhone. Use finger to flip through the photos. It also lets you to save the photo to the iPhone/iPod Touch. Unfortunately you can’t zoom in the photos in the current version.
Best thing is that you can set up a few Windows or Mac and choose the photos library you love. It’s too complicated to sync different photo library of different computers to iPhone/iPod Touch. Simplify Photo have solved the problem.

Our friends in Hong Kong winandmac send us a screenshot that I thought it’s fake. It’s real for sure. Their official carrier 3HK delivers the true 3G speed that iPhone 3GS should have. It reaches above 4Mbps in some places. This could be the first time I see iPhone 3GS gets better internet than that of the old iPhone 3G. But, they added,
Actually, 3HK is pretty slow in most places. Recently we found a few places that can reaches 4Mbps or higher mysteriously.
This is mystery. Let’s hope all iPhone carriers in the world can deliver the true internet speed of 3GS.

I know Cycorder is the solution for iPhone 2G/3G user to record video like 3GS. But, you can’t edit them using the default app. A user has made a hack that lets you to edit video on Photo.app. SSH, Cycorder and SBSettings are required. Download the files at here. Follow the steps below to put the files on iPhone 2G/3G using SSH,
1. unzip the archive copy the folder to your iPhones /tmp directory
2. In the command line type
bash/tmp/VideoToggle/install
3. After your iPhone respring’s the toggle will be installed
Uninstall it by following the steps below,
1. Copy the folder to your iPhones /tmp directory
2. In the command line type
bash/tmp/VideoToggle/uninstall
3. After your iPhone respring’s the toggle will be uninstalled
This solution works for some people only. Error messages may appear but just ignore it. When you switch on VideoToggle in SBSettings, you won’t be able to take still pictures. Switch off and you can take pictures again. Make sure you backup first. Don’t blame anyone if anything goes wrong. It’s kind of tedious but worth to try. You can now drag and trim the video. iPhone 2G/3G still survive.

Ustream Finally Launches A Recording iPhone App. No Live Video, But A Lot Of Options.
For several months now, Ustream
has had an iPhone app that allows you to view video from the service. But “view” is the keyword there. You could only watch it, you could not record and send your own video back from the iPhone. But starting today, you finally can.
The new Ustream Recorder is a free application available in Apple’s App Store that allows you to send video from your iPhone to the web. Unfortunately, despite long-standing talk that it might be able to send live video from your iPhone to the web, that is not the case. Instead, Ustream appears to be attempting to use some spin by calling it a “live-to-recorded video recorder” — um, okay, isn’t all video at some point technically recorded live? Yes, it is.
Mentioning “live” was not necessary here because this app does not stream video live. Not that it’s Ustream’s fault, it’s Apple that doesn’t currently allow apps that do that in the App Store. So instead, this app records video and then uploads it to the web. The problem is that there are already a number of other apps out there that do this, like Kyte and 12cast. But Ustream wants to challenge them on the iPhone by offering more options.
The app gives you the option to share you videos to Ustream, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook or Ustream on Facebook. This makes the app much more flexible than its competitors when it comes to deciding where you want to send your video. Ustream also promises high-quality video from the app, which isn’t a surprise given the quality that Kyte’s app outputs.
Also interesting is that the app allows edit and manage videos that are already up on Ustream, even if they weren’t recorded with the iPhone. You simply pull download them to edit them.
But the reason why Ustream isn’t too bummed about its app not offering live-streaming is that they envisioned it used in another way, with another new service they’re launching.
Called “Media Stream,” it’s a functionality that basically allows broadcasters to pull in other video clips to supplement their own streams. Imagine it this way: Say you’re watching the CrunchCam, but one of the TechCrunch reporters has just shot a cool video and uploaded it. Assuming they had the correct privileges, that video would then show up as a thumbnail below the live feed. And if a user clicked on it, they could watch it.
Again, that is pre-recorded video being sent in from the iPhone, but such a use-case actually sounds pretty cool. And for publishers it’s fairly flexible. You can accept videos from anyone that submits them if they use a hashtag that you set (to be able to identify the right videos). You can then choose to accept certain videos into your feed on a case-by-case basis. Or you can approve certain users ahead of time so that their videos will definitely show up in your stream.
The functionality works on Ustream and on embeds.
It’s disappointing that the app doesn’t offer live video streaming, but again, that’s not Ustream’s fault (Qik can only do it by bypassing the App Store with an Ad-Hoc install method). But a nice set up upload options and this new Media Stream capability should make Ustream’s app a good option in an increasingly crowded iPhone 3GS video app field.
Who’s this little guy? Oh, that’s just Robochan — the Kondo KHR-2HV bot with a fully-functioning iPhone 3GS fused to his head. Not interested? Well, hear us out — because we, too, have seen many an iPhone mod project in our day, leaving us jaded, easily susceptible to waking in the middle of the night to find ourselves shrieking out “fanboy!” for no reason, and finding that in general at this point — merely cranking the word iPhone into your DIY project is the easiest way to send us to Snoresville. But we’ll admit it: Robochan drew us in within ten — nay, five — seconds. His dance moves are killer, and his faces have stolen whatever remnants of a heart we had left. So take our advice: watch the video, which is after the break.
