Apple has posted a new iPhone advertisement “Share” which shows how useful Bump and Mover. Mover is the freeware which lets you to share photos with friends over Wi-Fi with simple flick. Bump is another freeware for you to share contacts with friends over Wi-Fi.
Since Wi-Fi is not everywhere, you can’t do these things anywhere you want. You can’t also share one single photo to friends easily on the train or bus. It’s pretty sad that you can’t do this through iPhone’s Bluetooth. You can’t share contacts nor photos with friends who are not using iPhone. This new ad shows how stupid iPhone share stuff. Apple, just cancel the limitation. Let developers to make apps that really can share stuff easily with bluetooth.
Update and some corrections: Bump lets you to share contacts using any internet connection. There is also another software called Image Share from App Store that lets you to share photos using bluetooth. But, since these communication is still a iPhone-to-iPhone (or iPod Touch). It’s still stupid that you cannot share contacts and photos with friends who are not using the iPhone through bluetooth. Your friends cannot send you any awesome photos (unless you install iBluetooth) from their mobile.
This is clearly because of the “close” policy of Apple. They need to cancel the limitations. We need to share things to both iPhone and non-iPhone users.
By the way, if you really want to share stuff through bluetooth, you can install iBluetooth from Cydia. It’s not fully compatible with iPhone 3.0.1, but worth to try.
p.s. Apple has also posted a new ad “Travel” yesterday.
