I know Cycorder is the solution for iPhone 2G/3G user to record video like 3GS. But, you can’t edit them using the default app. A user has made a hack that lets you to edit video on Photo.app. SSH, Cycorder and SBSettings are required. Download the files at here. Follow the steps below to put the files on iPhone 2G/3G using SSH,
1. unzip the archive copy the folder to your iPhones /tmp directory
2. In the command line type
bash/tmp/VideoToggle/install
3. After your iPhone respring’s the toggle will be installed
Uninstall it by following the steps below,
1. Copy the folder to your iPhones /tmp directory
2. In the command line type
bash/tmp/VideoToggle/uninstall
3. After your iPhone respring’s the toggle will be uninstalled
This solution works for some people only. Error messages may appear but just ignore it. When you switch on VideoToggle in SBSettings, you won’t be able to take still pictures. Switch off and you can take pictures again. Make sure you backup first. Don’t blame anyone if anything goes wrong. It’s kind of tedious but worth to try. You can now drag and trim the video. iPhone 2G/3G still survive.
